Alejandro is an A honor roll student who brings energy and initiative into everything he does. He served as the freshman class President. Outside the classroom, he stays actively involved through volunteering at church and other community efforts.

Alesandra plays varsity tennis and participates in activities and clubs such as robotics, science fair and Helping Hearts. She enjoys hiking and reading novels.

Alison Ayres

Alison is a member of the varsity dance team and serves as class Vice President. She is an officer of her school’s prayer group and a member of the Rotary Interact and Global Justice clubs. Outside of school, she is involved in the National Charity League, where she serves as President of her grade-level group.

Analise is a member of her school’s varsity orchestra.  Analise has a strong interest in biology and shows a love for animals.

Dorcas serves in the Cardinal Senate as a student ambassador and participates in organizations including HOSA, Science Fair, volleyball, and several honor societies. She is involved with the National Hispanic Institute and volunteers at the Witte Museum.

Francesca Casaverde Marin

Reagan High School

Francesca demonstrates strong academic performance, public speaking, and leadership in competitive and service-based organizations. She has competed in policy debate tournaments and regional mock trial events, earning an invitation to the state championships. She is also actively involved in HOSA, DECA, choir, and Mu Alpha Theta. Alongside her academic pursuits, Francesca tutors middle school students in math and Spanish. Her passion for the arts and for preserving cultural traditions has led her to co-lead Tusuy Kusun, a Peruvian dance. She serves as San Antonio’s ambassador for Marinera Norteña and will represent the city at the 2027 international competition in Lima, Peru. In addition, she volunteers with Students of Service, where she has been recognized for her dedication to community service through work with more than 30 organizations across the city.

Gerardo serves as a student ambassador for open houses, assisting dual-language families understand the opportunities at his school. He volunteers at medical events with his HOSA chapter.

Istra is enrolled in the Fox Tech pathways in Technology Early College Program. She is an active member of her student council volunteering program, with a conviction for supporting underserved families in the San Antonio Area.

Joanne competes at local competitions as the president of the Science Bowl club. She is also a member of the Mayor’s Fitness Council and is a student mentor that helps students create a better environment for their community. She is passionate about music and is in YOSA strings and plays piano for Malayalam worship at her church. She loves to volunteer at the Food Bank and Special Reach.

Katelyn demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental science and medicine. She participates in science fairs and her school’s Environmentalist club. A National Junior Honor Society member, Katelyn competes in cross-country and track, and participates in her school’s running club. She volunteers at a local military hospital and is actively involved in the Red Cross club.

Landon participates in multiple extracurricular activities such as track and the E-sports club during the year. Some of his hobbies include playing video games and playing basketball.

Marvelous is a student at Great Hearts Monte Vista North, who is actively involved in both academic and extracurricular activities. He is a member of his school’s lab assistant group, collecting data for their own research and assisting teachers with lab set-up and clean-up. He also enjoys playing sports.

Mia is an honors student and serves as a cadet in the AFJROTC program at Judson High School. She is a member of Student Council and Key Club, where she enjoys serving her school and community through leadership and volunteer work.

Sharzeh Jafferali

St. Mary’s Hall

Sharzeh is actively involved in academics, leadership, and extracurricular activities. He serves as the treasurer of the school’s Model United Nations club and as an officer on the Debate Team. He participates in the Student Investment Group, DECA, and HOSA while also earning recognition as a national debate qualifier. He is a member of the Shield Society and the founder of Tiny Steps Big Smiles, and is also the Youth Team Lead of the Aga Khan Ismaili Volunteers, where he helps coordinate service efforts and youth engagement initiatives.

Shayna was recently inducted into STEM Ambassadors, a student leadership organization that helps educate incoming students about the opportunities available through the STEM program. Shayna also volunteers with Camp CAMP, and she is passionate about technical theater production, including stage construction, lighting, and sound.
